MASK IN A FLASH: USING POWDER FACE MASKS

MASK IN A FLASH: USING POWDER FACE MASKS

At IN YOUR FACE SKINCARE, we LOVE face masks.

From the resurfacing and soothing power of our PUMPKIN ENZYME MASK to our hydrating and microbiome-improving BLUEBERRY BOOST MASK, we can’t get enough of the skincare benefits that come with a quality face mask.

But what about powder masks? These have stood the test of time for generations among dermatologists and aestheticians. They provide deep cleansing and detoxifying properties right in your own home.

Powder masks are made of dried and crushed herbs, botanicals, and include some kind of mineral rich clay as a base. Since there is no water in powder masks, they don’t need preservatives, additives, or fillers. Just the natural, whole ingredients your skin needs, with a longer shelf life!

These are still active ingredients that your skin needs, just lying dormant - your skin saviors in a jar, waiting to be activated with liquid. But that’s not even the best part of using powder masks: they can be customized to fit every single need your skin has. Your skin experiences changes almost daily that can leave it feeling oily, dry, and more prone to acne, so you need to be versatile to make sure these needs are met.

And powder face masks are so versatile, you can include different delicious ingredients to meet those special skin needs.

Extra dry skin? Mix a tsp of honey (a natural humectant) with a few drops of warm water.

Dull flakey skin? Mix with greek yogurt which is extremely hydrating and exfoliating with its lactic acid.

Need an Anti-aging exfoliant boost? Use Apple Cider Vinegar with its probiotic properties.

Need a calming and soothing treat? Mix with freshly brewed chamomile or peppermint tea.

Now, you don’t need super fancy tools to use a powder mask, but a non-metal bowl (or ceramic treatment bowl) and good, quality brush will help you make the most out of your experience. You’ll also want to keep a warm washcloth (or disposable cleansing cloth) nearby so you can gently remove the mask and complete the rest of your skincare routine!

In today's world where our skin is assaulted by pollution, UV rays, blue light damage, and hormonal changes, you should add the concentrated penetration of a facial mask at least 1-2 times a week.

Your pretty face will thank you!

XOXO,

Denice
